Crowns & Bridges

Crown and bridge treatment is a reliable solution to replace broken, damaged or missing teeth.

What Is A Crown?

Crowns & Bridges

Commonly known as ‘caps’, crowns are covers for damaged or unsightly teeth commonly made from materials such as gold, porcelain or more recently, ceramic. Ceramic crowns are carefully crafted to look natural and blend in with the rest of your teeth with no metal sub structure. This can eliminate dark metallic lines around the gums of more traditional porcelain bonded to metal crowns.

What Is A Bridge?

A bridge is a fixed dental restoration used to replace a missing tooth (or several teeth) by joining an artificial tooth permanently to adjacent teeth or dental implants.

Crowns and bridges are typically applied for a multitude of reasons such as:

  • Strengthening of teeth weakened by decay or large fillings
  • Protecting fractured, cracked and worn teeth
  • Improving the shape, alignment and shade of a tooth
  • Strengthening teeth after root canal treatments

Our goal is to ensure your mouth is comfortable, functional and pain free

  • Tailored treatment reflective of your needs and budget
  • Restore your mouth’s function and transform your smile
  • Protect and strengthen filled teeth
  • Repair broken teeth
  • Boost your self esteem
  • Your dentist may recommend a crown if you may have discoloured fillings and would like to improve the appearance of the tooth. Alternatively, you may have had a root filling that will need a crown to protect and strengthen it or a crown may help hold a removable bridge or denture firmly in place.

  • If your crown has fallen out, keep it safe so it can be re-cemented as soon as possible to avoid damage. If it is loose - the same advice applies. Please contact us immediately.

  • Dental bridges are designed to last many years, so it’s important to look after them in the same way you would a natural tooth by maintaining a good daily oral routine and visiting your dentist as regularly as advised.
